House Rowley

House Rowley is an ancient family claiming descent from both the empire and rugged hillfolk. From their seat in Bodkin they’ve served as rulers and protectors of the highlands for generations. Now they court the druids’ and fey to create a Kingdom of their own. The House Patriarch, Henry Rowley, is a gruff but accomplished commander and hunter. He has ridden off to war with rival claimants. His two siblings: Eadwin, an urbane diplomat from the capital; and Saoirse, known to consort with witches and druids, rule over Bodkin.

Rowley retainers are game-wardens, village-officials, and hedge-mages. They share a common desire for order in the wake of the empire's fall and a stable and flourishing kingdom patterned after that of the Firbolg legends. Some are farm-boys who enjoy giving out-of-towners a well-deserved beating.

Alignment: Non-chaotic

Cathbadh's Circle

Cathbadh’s Circle was an ancient druidic order which counselled and advised the kings of old. Now rebuilt, the Circle is eager to usher in a monarch to bring about druidic hegemony once again. The Circle is led by Archdruid Dunhain, a kindly old man, but rumored to be the mastermind of a bloody campaign of assassinations against the Andrunese Empire.

Guardians of Cathbadh’s Circle is dedicated to balancing the more savage powers of the isle with human civilization. They believe humanity is part of nature, and it is their duty as druids to guide human affairs. With the Great Tribes mysteriously vanishing, a number of destitute elves have flocked to the Circle.

Little Brothers of Mercy

The Little Brothers of Mercy is a small cult of Ilmater that has taken root in Bodkin. Slavery and poverty have grown tremendously with the empire’s decline, and the Brothers offers relief and redemption to those with nothing. Bodkin, however, cannot hope to sustain such a large group of migrants. Brother Akashi, a former slave from Calimport, ministers to the Brotherhood as the so-called Voice of the Crying God.

Some of the Brothers, former gladiators and reformed criminals, have taken to mercenary work… for the children.

Classes: Non-Druid, Non-Wizard
Races: Non-outcast; especially Humans, Halflings, and Half-Orcs
Deities: Ilmater, Triad

First Born Privateers

The Firstborn Privateers are a band of Andrunese ex-patriots who watched their empire dire and wealth dwindle. They are led by Isaura Merovin, last surviving member of Andrune’s royal family, and bent on revenge against both druidic rebels, and the Magisterium who now holds Avendel.

The First-Born are former nobles, outcasts, and pirates bent on revenge and the acquisition of wealth. Most are fiercely loyal to their captain, and have followed her from Dragon's Lairs to Drow Citadels in her quest to reclaim the isle.
